What Winter lessons are

Winter Lessons are private, one-on-one coaching sessions designed for golfers who can already score 50 or better on nine holes and want to continue developing during the offseason. These lessons are ideal for players who value focused instruction and personalized feedback without the commitment of a multi-week program.

Unlike in-season coaching, winter training allows players to slow the game down. With the use of indoor technology and controlled practice environments, coaches can isolate patterns, build consistency, and help players develop a clearer understanding of their swing, tendencies, and practice priorities.

Lessons are available as single sessions or packages, giving players flexibility based on their goals, schedule, and level of commitment. Some players use winter lessons to maintain momentum, while others use them as a launch point into structured spring and summer programs.

Who winter lessons are for

Winter Lessons are a strong fit for adult and junior golfers who already have basic scoring ability and want to improve efficiently during the offseason. Players should be comfortable hitting all clubs and understand the fundamentals of the game, even if consistency is still developing.

This option is ideal for golfers who prefer individualized coaching, want specific feedback on their swing or ball flight, or need help building a clear practice plan for the winter months. Many players use winter lessons to address issues they do not have time to work on during the busy golf season.

Winter Lessons are not designed for beginners or players just learning how to play. They are intended for golfers who want to train with purpose and arrive at the start of the season more confident and prepared.

How winter lessons work

All winter lessons are conducted indoors using our simulators and training space. The indoor environment allows for consistent conditions, detailed shot feedback, and efficient use of time.

Each lesson is fully customized to the player. Sessions may focus on technical refinement, ball flight control, short game skills, or structured practice depending on the player’s goals. Coaches use technology and observation to help players understand what is happening, why it is happening, and how to practice effectively between sessions.

Because lessons are private, players receive full coach attention and clear direction on what to work on next. This creates continuity across sessions and helps players see steady progress throughout the winter.

The Format

Winter Lessons are offered as private, one-on-one coaching sessions. Players may book single lessons or choose from lesson packages for continued development throughout the winter.

Lessons take place entirely indoors. When simulators are not being used for coaching, they are also available for rental, allowing players to practice and apply what they are working on during lessons.

Winter lesson availability is limited, and scheduling is handled on a first-come basis.

Before You Join

Winter Lessons are designed for players who want to use the offseason productively. Players should already be able to score 50 or better on nine holes and be comfortable with basic fundamentals.

While winter training is more controlled, players are encouraged to practice between lessons when possible. Improvement comes from a combination of coaching, repetition, and intentional work.

Winter Lessons are not a replacement for on-course coaching or in-season programs. They are a way to build skills, clarity, and confidence so players are better prepared when golf moves back outdoors.

BB Golf Academy Coaching Philosophy

At BB Golf Academy, we believe real improvement comes from a holistic approach to the game. Golf is not just about how a swing looks. It is about learning how to score, compete, adapt, and grow as a player over time. The best players are remembered for their ability to post low scores and perform under pressure, not for perfect mechanics on the range.

Our goal is to develop golfers who are competitive, self aware, and capable of improving long after formal coaching ends. Everything we do is built around four core pillars that guide development at every stage.

1. Competitive Mindset

Golf is an emotional game, especially when results matter. We teach players how to manage themselves before, during, and after each shot. This includes controlling emotions after mistakes, using consistent routines, staying present under pressure, and building confidence through preparation and repetition. A strong mindset allows players to trust their skills when it matters most.

2. Scoring and the Real Game of Golf

Golf is a game of misses. Great players do not eliminate mistakes, they manage them better than everyone else. We train players to make smart decisions on the course, avoid big numbers, recover effectively, and choose targets that match their skill level. Simple stat tracking is used to identify where strokes are truly being lost so practice and coaching stay focused on what matters most.

3. Purposeful Practice

Practice only works when it has intention. We teach players how to practice with structure, accountability, and pressure. Players learn how to organize weekly practice, use challenges that simulate competition, track results, and build habits that translate from the range to the course. Practice becomes a tool for measurable improvement, not just repetition.

4. Skill Development That Is Progressive and Personal

We focus on the skills each player needs right now. Not information overload. Development follows a clear progression so learning stays productive, enjoyable, and sustainable. Every player is different, and coaching is adjusted to meet the individual while still following a proven developmental framework.

At BB Golf Academy, our mission is to develop better golfers and better competitors by teaching skills that last, habits that transfer, and a mindset built for long term success.
