HIGH SCHOOL READY

High School Ready overview

High School Ready is designed for junior golfers who are serious about competing at the high school level. The program focuses on teaching players how to practice, how to prepare, and how to compete—skills that directly translate to lower scores and stronger performance in matches and tournaments.

Our coaching approach emphasizes guidance over management. Players are taught how to think, make decisions, and take ownership of their development. Rather than chasing perfect technique, we focus on building adaptable skills and repeatable processes that hold up under pressure.

Players in High School Ready typically compete in WSJGA events, U.S. Kids tournaments, and local high school matches. This program does not replace those events—it supports them. Coaching is structured around preparation before competition and reflection afterward, helping players continuously improve through real playing experience.

Players in this program are coached to practice with intent, compete with clarity, and take ownership of their preparation and performance.

This program focuses on developing the key foundations required for successful high school competition, including:

  • Practice Structure — Players learn how to organize their week, allocate practice time effectively, and train with purpose rather than volume.

  • Scoring Skills (100 Yards and In) — Emphasis on putting, chipping, wedges, and converting bogeys instead of doubles, where most high school matches are decided.

  • Competitive Routines — Development of consistent pre-shot, pre-round, and post-round routines that support performance under pressure.

  • Course Strategy — Learning how to play to strengths, manage misses, and make smart decisions based on scoring formats and conditions.

  • Mental & Emotional Control — Training resilience, focus, and response after mistakes to maintain momentum during rounds.

  • Performance Reflection — Reviewing rounds objectively to identify patterns, guide practice, and avoid emotional overreaction.

In addition to competition preparation, players continue to develop technical fundamentals, short-game versatility, putting consistency, shot shaping, and course awareness. All skill development is taught within a scoring and competitive context so that practice transfers directly to the course.
