Vol. 12: How To Predict Your Next 18 Hole Score

I thoroughly enjoyed creating my first YouTube video a few weeks ago, so I decided to give it another go this week. Join me as I unveil my personal, tried-and-true method for assessing the state of my game and predicting my upcoming 18-hole score.

In this video, I'll walk you through the Short Game Assessment, a valuable tool I discovered from fellow PGA Professional Mike LaBauve. Mike has been using this assessment with players of all skill levels for years, consistently predicting scores within a shot or two of their recent 18-hole rounds.

After putting it to the test throughout the summer, I can confirm its remarkable accuracy.

But it's more than just an assessment; it's a fantastic way to practice with purpose during your next visit to the driving range. I aim to complete the assessment 1-2 times each week, challenging myself to improve my score each time. It's an engaging and enjoyable practice routine!

Questions from my Wife Who Doesn’t Golf

👩 Wife: How early should you arrive for your tee time?

🏌️‍♂️ Me: At bare minimum, 15 minutes. You need time to check in, get loaded on your cart (if you’re renting one), and get to the first tee. Your tee time is the time that you should be hitting the ball on the first tee. As you can imagine, if you want time to warm up, then you may want to be there 45 minutes to an hour ahead of your tee time.
